Mental health advocate Tiffany works towards improving health service provision to vulnerable community members. Through the Fellowship, she wants to network and refine her skills.
Tiffany was born and raised in Hong Kong. She hopes to see the city grow into a place where citizens can enjoy equal and stigma-free access to physical and mental healthcare in order to reach their full potential. Her volunteering work with vulnerable groups including people experiencing homelessness, the incarcerated and those struggling with psychiatric disorders sparked her interest in becoming a mental health practitioner. Her experiences reaching out to these communities developed her sense of empathy, and consequently she is committed to creating a healthier, more emotionally intelligent city that extends meaningful and compassionate care to all who reside in it.
In her current role, Tiffany focuses on academic research on psychosis. In addition to serving as a hotline volunteer, she also took part in Imperfect Dialogue at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a symposium, exhibition and human library session focused on mental health education among youth. Her involvement in such initiatives crystalized her view that health and wellbeing form a fundamental building block of a dignified and fulfilling life. She believes that awareness on mental health will become increasingly crucial as humans contend with uncertainties such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, automation and beyond.
Through the Fellowship, Tiffany wants to develop her skills and form a supportive network in the journey of promoting rights to health. She cherishes a platform that could connect her with like-minded individuals where she can learn from or potentially collaborate with. In particular, she wants to develop her knowledge of communications and public relations. She hopes that Resolve’s workshops will elevate her skills, help her craft persuasive messages and tell compelling stories to drive action on different perspectives of health issues.
In her spare time, Tiffany loves to listen to podcasts, read, cook, and hang out with friends. She also enjoys educating herself on the ins and outs of psychotherapy and emotional intelligence.
