About

James Ho

James is working at Generation HK and believes that the ability to choose how to live is a basic right no one should be deprived of. He hopes to create a living environment that empowers both current and future older individuals.

Having been raised by his grandparents in Hong Kong, James understands that the older population needs respect and communication, not just financial assistance. He has seen how focusing on meeting the basic survival needs of the aging population has resulted in some older adults only ‘surviving’ rather than ‘living’ in the community. He wants to see older people treated with empathy and give support to retain their independence.

James’ community work has shown him the power of transforming mindsets; by providing suitable environments for experiences and exploration, people from different backgrounds can learn empathy and practice equal coexistence. He believes that individuals, groups, organizations, and society can become more equal and inclusive through caring for the needs of vulnerable older people.

On Resolve’s Fellowship, James hopes to learn and promote personal and cultural transformation based on empathy. He is also looking to develop leadership skills and learn from friends who share common values, to create a positive impact in the community.

James derives immense pleasure from bouldering, embracing goal-setting and problem-solving for a fulfilling experience. Each challenge, be it a success or setback, fuels his growth in both mental resilience and physical wellbeing.
