About

Hazel Fok

Hazel is a primary school teacher and the founder of Earth Farm (@earthfarm_), a community farm in Pat Heung. She first cultivated curiosity and empathy for marginalized communities as a university student journalist. Upon graduation, she worked to support ethnic minorities children’s Chinese learning in Rolling Books. In 2021, she established Earth Farm and has been organizing seasonal co-farming fellowship and regular community activities with the aim of promoting interracial understanding within her culturally diverse neighborhood. Through the co-farming fellowships, she engages over 100 fellows from all walks of life to grow local vegetables together, spreading the importance of caring for the people and environment around us.

Supported by Resolve Opportunity Fund, she also cooperated with two 2020 alumni, Liam and Kim, in “Diversity Hub (EM x Trans x Deaf)”in organizing a youth fellowship that fostered solidarity between three marginalized communities in 2022. Hazel loves bringing people together and will continue to promote environment and agro-food education and be an active supporter of cross-community solidarity. In her free time, Hazel likes playing the guitar, taking photographs, farming and wandering in different districts of Hong Kong.
