2025 | Representation and Beyond: Gender Inclusion in Everyday Life

Does representation alone weave true inclusion?

In 2025, we mark 30 years since the Beijing Declaration, a pivotal moment for gender equality. While some progress has been made, a global backlash against DEI initiatives threatens to scale back on hard-won rights and undermine efforts toward true equality. True inclusion goes beyond representation.

Theme Overview

At Resolve, we are aiming to craft safe and inclusive spaces that nurture the true sense of belonging, challenging gender stereotypes, promoting gender education, and unlocking resources for open attitudes, not just in headlines, but in everyday spaces: from classrooms that educate future generations, to family dinners where values are passed on, to workplaces that embed equality and respect, and public spaces where every voice deserves to be heard.

We envision a society where all genders can thrive, feel safe, and be celebrated—not just represented.

The 2025-26 Fellowship will focus on advancing women’s empowerment and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, exploring how these are expressed and experienced in everyday life in Hong Kong. Our thematic focus will cover topics such as, but by no means limited to:

Women’s empowerment
LGBTQIA+ Inclusion
Gender stereotyping & discrimination
Gender expression
Caregiving
Gender-Based Violence
Gender Inclusive Workplaces
Gender & Health
Gender & Tech

Nominate Fellow

fellow Eligibility

The program is designed for people with a track record of commitment to serving Hong Kong, especially those who need greater support in developing leadership skills, expanding their network, and gaining knowledge. This year, we will select 25 Fellows through a merit-based process open to those meeting the following criteria

Based in Hong Kong and available in person from November 2025 to April 2026 (refer to the timeline)
Be over the age of 18 years old at the start of the Fellowship in November 2025
Able to attend at least 80% of all Fellowship activities (workshops & socials included)
Can communicate in plain English (Sign language interpretation can be provided upon request during workshops)
Comfortable participating in half-day workshops, with breaks, and interactive group activities.
Committed and able to actively engage in an intensive program responsively and diligently.
Open to investing in oneself for personal learning, development, and transformation.

Mentor Eligibility

We seek 25 Mentors experienced in initiating, planning, and influencing social inclusion based on the following criteria. Mentors will guide Fellows in understanding their community leadership goals related to gender inclusion in Hong Kong, help them overcome leadership challenges, and support the development of their Opportunity Fund project ideas.

Based in Hong Kong and available during the program timeline
Be over the age of 18 years old at the start of the Fellowship
Be able to commit to at least 5 self-arranged mentoring sessions between November and April (one to two 1-hour mentoring sessions per month) and 2–3 key Fellowship events. Requires an average monthly commitment of between 2–3 hours.
Have relevant experience related to the Fellowship theme of Gender Inclusion
Be proficient in plain English communication

We welcome Mentors of all levels of experience to apply. We do not have a minimum requirement for the number of working years, as we value the diverse experiences and expertise you bring from your industry and personal life.

Program Components

The Fellowship will consist of 7 compulsory and 2 optional leadership development workshops, one-to-one Mentoring, social events, and Opportunity Fund seed grant to test ideas.
